Free 3GP Video Converter’s mission is to convert videos taken on your phone into files you can play on your PC and maybe even your TV, if you have a home media network. Once you’ve set the app’s presets, it’s mostly a matter of adding files, either by browsing or dragging and dropping, and clicking Convert. We could change the output name and add and edit Tags, too.

Pros

GPU acceleration check: Free 3GP Video Converter’s setup wizard checked our graphics card’s ability to handle video acceleration (it could) and whether its drivers were up-to-date (they weren’t!).

Presets: While the app’s options are thin, each Format has numerous presets like bit rate, sample rate, and video codec. To change presets, just choose the Format and click the Preset Wizard’s magic wand icon.

Unusual formats: Free 3GP Video Converter not only handles common video formats like AVI, MP4, and WMV but also some less common ones, including WKV, WebM, and M2TS.

Cons

Big cache: Free 3GP Video Converter requires at least 171.3MB of free disk space — not a lot by today’s standards, unless you boot from a small and tight SSD. You can easily move the cache folder to another disk if space is an issue.

Bottom Line

Bigger and fancier video converters are available, if that’s what you need. But Free 3GP Video Converter can do some jobs in less time than it takes many big tools to load.
